Amazon has officially unveiled the first look at Sophie Turner as Lara Croft, confirming that production on its upcoming Tomb Raider TV series is now underway.
The newly released image shows Turner in a costume inspired by Lara Croftâs classic 1990s look, closely matching the design seen in the upcoming game Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. The iconic outfit features Laraâs signature top and shorts, with a small modern twist â the shorts are black instead of the traditional brown.
Turner, best known for her role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, leads an impressive cast that includes:
- Sigourney Weaver
- Jason Isaacs
- Martin Bobb-Semple
- Jack Bannon
- John Heffernan
- Bill Paterson
- Paterson Joseph
- Sasha Luss
- Juliette Motamed
- Celia Imrie
- August Wittgenstein
The series is being led by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the creator of Fleabag, who serves as creator, writer, executive producer, and showrunner. She is working alongside co-showrunner Chad Hodge and director Jonathan Van Tulleken to bring the iconic adventurer back to the screen.
While Amazon has confirmed that filming is in progress, a release window has not yet been announced.
With a fresh take on Lara Croft and a high-profile creative team, the new Tomb Raider series is shaping up to be one of Amazonâs most anticipated upcoming shows.
