Bungie has officially confirmed that Marathon will have a free test weekend ahead of its launch, giving players an early opportunity to jump into the studio’s upcoming extraction shooter.
The announcement comes as excitement continues to build around Marathon, which is set to launch on March 5. While Bungie hasn’t shared exact dates for the test weekend yet, the confirmation ensures that players will be able to experience the game’s core systems before release.
The free test weekend will allow players to:
- Get hands-on with Marathon’s PvPvE extraction gameplay
- Try out different Runners and abilities
- Experience the game’s gunplay, movement, and pacing
- Test features like solo and group queueing, as well as proximity chat
This move also gives Bungie a chance to gather additional feedback and make final tweaks ahead of launch.
Marathon Launches March 5
Marathon is Bungie’s modern reimagining of its classic 1994 shooter, redesigned as a team-based extraction FPS focused on accessibility while maintaining high-stakes gameplay.
