Football Manager 2026 hasn’t had the kind of launch fans were hoping for. The game officially dropped on November 5, 2025, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic Games Store, Windows, Mac, Netflix, and Apple Arcade, with a Nintendo Switch version coming on December 4.
This year’s edition was supposed to be the big one. SEGA and Sports Interactive even cancelled Football Manager 2025 to focus on quality, switching over to the Unity engine, securing the official Premier League license and adding women’s football for the very first time.
But the hype hasn’t exactly matched the outcome. FM26 is currently one of Steam’s lowest rated new releases, with players complaining about UI changes that make the game feel less immersive, as well as bugs, crashes, and laggy menus that take away from the experience.

It’s been a rough start for what was meant to be SEGA’s most advanced Football Manager yet. Still, fans are holding out hope that upcoming patches can iron things out and make FM26 the game everyone was expecting after a year-long wait
