Genshin Impact’s highly anticipated Luna IV (Version 6.3) update is almost here, bringing new characters, a brand-new region, and the return of the beloved Lantern Rite 2026 event.

The update will officially go live at 11:00 AM CST on January 14, 2026, while North American servers will receive the update earlier at 8:00 PM PST on January 13, 2026.

Before the update launches, the game will undergo scheduled maintenance starting at 06:00 AM CST on January 14 (or 03:00 PM PST on January 13 for NA servers). The maintenance is expected to last around five hours.

New Characters in Luna IV

Version 6.3 introduces three brand-new characters:

• Columbina (5★): A powerful Lunar reaction support and the best option for Nod-Krai teams.
• Zibai (5★): The strongest Geo DPS character, capable of enabling Lunar Crystallize reactions.
• Illuga (4★): A support character designed specifically to boost Zibai teams.

These banners are stacked with strong new and returning characters, so players should plan their pulls wisely before spending their Primogems.

Lantern Rite 2026 and New Area

Luna IV also brings back the Lantern Rite event for 2026, packed with festive activities, mini-games, and rewards. On top of that, the update introduces an entirely new area for players to explore, expanding Genshin Impact’s world even further.

Maintenance Compensation

All players who reach Adventure Rank 5 before the update begins will receive 300 Primogems as compensation. The rewards will be sent via in-game mail after the update goes live and must be claimed within 30 days.
