GTA 6 Leaks Breakdown: Everything Reportedly Known So Far

As anticipation for GTA 6 continues to skyrocket, a steady stream of leaks has surfaced across Reddit, X, and Discord. Some of these details have gained credibility after matching Rockstar’s official trailers and statements, while others remain unconfirmed but plausible.

This article compiles the most talked-about leaks from sources such as u/Snowk32, GameRoll, and LegacyKillaHD. While nothing here should be treated as official until Rockstar confirms it, several details have already aligned with Trailer 2, lending weight to many of these claims.

GTA 6 Story Details

According to multiple leaks, GTA 6 will feature a structured, chapter-based story similar to Red Dead Redemption 2. The narrative is said to be divided into five chapters in total, with Trailer 2 reportedly showing footage only from Chapters 1 through 3.

Lucia is described as the central protagonist of GTA 6, playing a role comparable to Michael in GTA 5. Jason, the second playable character, has his own arc but is positioned more as a co-lead rather than the primary focus.

Both characters reportedly have separate introductory missions before their stories converge. Jason is said to have served time in the army, while Lucia’s backstory is far more controversial.

One of the most striking story leaks claims that Lucia abandons her baby at a delicatessen before heading into a bank robbery, which ultimately leads to her arrest. The baby reportedly only appears in a flashback cutscene, and there is no confirmed information on what happens afterward.

After spending several years in prison, Lucia is released on probation and picked up by Jason. The two later form a criminal partnership that gradually evolves into a romantic relationship. Lucia reportedly removes her ankle monitor early in the game, and it does not restrict free exploration.

A dramatic bike-to-truck jump seen in Trailer 2 is said to take place during Chapter 3. Another notable character mentioned in leaks is Donnie, a friend of Jason who works for Brian and is described as unpredictable and unsettling.

Gameplay Mechanics and Systems

GTA 6 is rumored to introduce a revamped character selection system. Players can reportedly switch between Solo Jason, Solo Lucia, or a Dual Protagonist mode where both characters can be controlled together in the open world. Certain missions are also designed to start with both protagonists active simultaneously.

Jason is said to possess a Dead Eye-style ability that slows time and highlights enemy weak points. Lucia can use a similar mechanic, but it is limited to a single shot.

Other gameplay-related leaks include:

  • A limited weapon system similar to RDR2, with guns stored in vehicle trunks
  • The return of a six-star wanted level
  • A rectangular minimap with pink GPS markers
  • Significantly improved driving physics, described as the best in the series
  • Greet and Antagonize interactions returning
  • Character weight mechanics affecting gameplay
  • Enhanced gore and dismemberment building upon RDR2’s system

The cover system is reportedly completely redesigned to feel more realistic and dynamic. A scene from Trailer 2 showing Jason buying beer is said to be actual gameplay, with players able to purchase six-packs from stores.

A relationship meter between Lucia and Jason also reportedly exists, functioning similarly to the honor system in RDR2 and influencing dialogue and interactions.

Mission Highlights

Several leaked missions give insight into GTA 6’s mission design and variety. The opening mission reportedly places players in control of Jason as he follows a landing plane carrying a Russian drug dealer. This leads into a drug theft mission that ends with the stash falling into the ocean.

A follow-up mission allegedly involves diving underwater to recover the lost drugs.

Other mission-related leaks include:

  • Most mission planning takes place inside a nightclub
  • A mission where players hunt or shoot a shark using a speargun
  • Lucia infiltrating a bodybuilding gang
  • A storyline moment where police officers betray one another

Map and World Design

The GTA 6 map is said to once again be island-based, with no panhandle included. Vice City is reportedly the largest and most detailed area on the map, significantly dwarfing locations such as Ambrosia and Port Gellhorn.

Beyond Vice City and its surrounding regions, leaks claim there are three additional islands, one of which draws heavy inspiration from the Bahamas. This information dates back to 2023, so plans may have changed since then.

Other reported map features include:

  • A fort-like city inspired by Fort Knox where gold is stored
  • A dedicated bike trail around Lake Leonida

Open World Features

GTA 6 is rumored to have one of the most dense and interactive open worlds Rockstar has ever created. Leaks suggest over 700 shops, with an unprecedented number of accessible interiors.

Players can reportedly explore:

  • Shopping malls with multiple functional stores
  • Skyscrapers with working elevators
  • Underwater areas filled with secrets and treasure

NPC behavior is also said to be more reactive. Characters will respond if players walk around with weapons drawn, and both Jason and Lucia attempt to conceal their guns in public. Trespassing into homes may result in NPCs calling the police or attempting citizen arrests.

Additional open-world activities reportedly include basketball minigames, renting hotel or motel rooms, and the presence of male strip clubs.

Cut and Missing Content

Not everything made it into the current version of GTA 6, according to leaks. Several ideas were reportedly scrapped during development.

Cut or removed features include:

  • Voiced protagonists in GTA Online
  • The prone mechanic
  • A random encounter referencing Jay Norris

Other features are reportedly not present at all, though this could change before launch:

  • Listening to music outside vehicles
  • Buying pets, although Jason does have a pet iguana that can be fed
  • Dual-wielding weapons
  • Chainsaws as usable weapons
  • A Disney World parody
  • A burglary mini-game
