As It Takes Two approaches its fifth anniversary this March, the award-winning co-op adventure has reached another major milestone. The game, created by Josef Fares and named Game of the Year in 2021, has now sold an impressive 27 million copies worldwide.
The sales figure was revealed during an interview with Fares on The Game Business. The number includes copies sold across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, highlighting the gameâs massive global reach.
It Takes Twoâs success isnât the only achievement for Faresâ studio. His earlier co-op title, A Way Out, which launched in March 2018, has also performed strongly, reaching 12 million copies sold worldwide.
Meanwhile, the studioâs newest release, Split Fiction, is off to a fast start. Launched just last year, the game managed to sell 4 million copies in only two months, showing strong early interest from players.
With multiple hit co-op games under his belt, Josef Fares continues to prove that story-driven, cooperative experiences can thrive in the modern gaming industry.
